About Sturya
Sturya (storya) is a word that can be easily understood as “story” in the local Filipino language. It resonates deeply with the Filipino culture, representing the power of storytelling.
In the Cebuano-Visayan dialect, it can be used as a noun (story) and verb (talk/tell/say).
*Gusto ko makahibalo sa imong sturya. (I want to know your story.)
*Sturya ta bai! (Dude, let’s talk!)
Sturya is a celebration of life, people and everything in between through storytelling and sharing of wisdom, hoping to brighten someone’s day, spark new ideas, inspire change and catalyze movement.
Through Sturya, I collect and share stories of people from all walks of life, bearing lessons, wisdom and inspiration. My mission is to write these captivating stories to entertain avid readers, teach valuable lessons and inspire everyone to take action.

We are naturally drawn to stories because they have the power to move us, to make us pause and reflect.
Remember when you suddenly stopped doing a chore or paused your steps because you heard something interesting? How about that time when you just can’t stop flipping the page until you’ve reached the end of the book?
Stories shaped the lives of men and women all over the world. It has been a part of us since time immemorial. Because stories have long existed since the time of our ancestors, it is no surprise that people get drawn to stories. It is a way of passing down knowledge, experiences and wisdom to the next generation. When we’re gone, the words we’ve uttered and written continue to make their way to the future.
As Libba Bray said, “There is no greater power on this earth than story.”
The Face Behind Sturya

I am Adrienne Veronique Reyes-Rulida, a mom, writer and nurse. Hailing from Bohol, Philippines, I’ve always loved writing and reading from a young age. Archie Comics and Reader’s Digest were among my favorites; they influenced me to explore writing and gave me enough courage to join local and national competitions.
Decades later, I still find myself drawn to writing articles, crafting excerpts, and conversing with fellow writers on the beauty and impact of stories on our lives. It is something that I will always come back to, no matter the circumstance, and the journey itself brings me joy that can’t be explained in words.
Every one of us has a story to tell, and I believe it can touch, inspire, influence and change another life. I put into writing these stories to entertain readers (like you!).
Through Sturya, I strive to write about a wide range of themes—love, family, passion, adventure, grief, and more—that inspire you to live life to the fullest and remind you of the extraordinary beauty of being alive.
I’m also adding bits and pieces of My Sturya (parenting, motherhood, writing tips and many more) to give you a glimpse of how I see the world and live life with the people close to my heart.
